What We've done so far:

  • Formed a Trust and gained charitable status.

  • Gained over 700 signatures on various petitions, 90%+ in support.

  • Engaged with Connect Cromwell to run a snap poll of which 90% supported it being developed by a Community Trust.

  • Met with and discussed the project with over 30 community groups, individuals and education providers.

  • Received letters of support from various groups and individuals, including (but not limited to): Cromwell and Districts Promotions Group, RSA, Central Otago Winegrowers Association, Cromwell and Districts Community Trust.

  • Presented at Community Board meetings and had further meetings with the Mayor.

  • Presented to Central Otago District Council.

  • Initiated consultation with Ngai Tahu.

  • Regular updates on Facebook and local newsletters.

  • Visited and met with various comparable project/facilities.

  • Gained support from local professional services, including Checketts McKay Law and Affleck O’Meara Accounting.

  • Set up working groups to allow interested locals to join groups that match their skill set.

  • Launched this website to spread the information
